State Reps Think You Know Them. 3-5% Do

State legislators who want to run for Congress usually think their name ID is 30, 40 or 50 percent. In this clip from my Fargo Talks conversation, Cliff Maloney, CEO of Citizens Alliance, explains what his polling actually finds, every time.

Then he tells me about the same test he gives his own major donors, the people funding state rep races. The views in this clip are Cliff's.

In our full conversation, Cliff walks through how Citizens Alliance runs paid door-knocking programs in Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Hampshire and Nevada.

How many voters know who their state representative is?
Cliff Maloney of Citizens Alliance says that when his team polls state representatives who want to run for Congress, their name ID comes back at 3 to 5 percent every time, and that even major donors funding state rep races often can't name their own state rep.
