This clip from Fargo Talks features a real conversation I had with Blake Wynn about how people misuse social media.
We both built careers using it, so this isn’t bashing the platform. Social media is powerful. It connects people. It scales ideas. It lets you learn from content and perspectives you might never see otherwise.
But it’s a terrible place to get one-to-one advice.
You don’t know who’s behind the screen. You don’t know their intentions. You don’t know if they care about you at all. Some feedback comes from people projecting. Some from people tearing you down. Some might not even come from real people.
Blake makes the point clearly. If someone doesn’t have your best interest at heart, their opinion doesn’t matter. And if you’re already struggling to think clearly about yourself, the last thing you need is random noise from strangers shaping how you see your life.
This clip is about discernment, self-trust, and why you should be careful who you let into your head.
