Adam Clausen was 24 years old when he walked into USP Allenwood, a level-six maximum security federal penitentiary in White Deer, Pennsylvania, with a 213-year sentence behind him. He did not have to introduce himself. The other inmates already had his file. They knew who he was. They knew he had gone to trial instead of cooperating. They knew the people he was associated with. The reputation arrived before he did.
In this clip from Fargo Talks, Adam tells Jeff Fargo what actually happens on day one inside a maximum security penitentiary when you walk in with a sentence designed to never let you out. How you respond to being tested. Why his prior experience in the criminal justice system shaped how he handled it. And the mindset he credits with keeping him alive for the next two decades.
